Project Background & Purpose
In August 1998, the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (DPI) implemented a reengineered Salary Administration System that helped streamline and further automate many of the salary administration processes. The new Salary Administration System provides DPI with an improved capability to accurately and efficiently verify, certify and report on salary data for the 115 local education agencies (LEAs) in the states. Additionally, the LEA License & Salary Info Center (Web-based) was established. This web-based application allows LEAs read-only access to key Salary Administration System information.
